The toy did not meet safety standards

A recall has been issued for a toy sold in the UK due to it presenting a "serious risk of choking".

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued a recall for Mr Pickles Douglas the Deer Soft Toy, sold before November 15, 2024.

The toggles on the backpacks can easily detach, creating small parts that pose a choking hazard to young children.

The children's toy fails to meet the requirements set out in the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.

Britons have also been warned of a dangerous electrical product sold via TikTok, which has been recalled due to a serious risk of electric shock.

Those who have purchased the Jia Le Xin Hub, which has three sockets and six USB ports, should stop using it immediately.

The IOPSS confirmed that the device's plug violates UK safety regulations.

Officials explained the specific danger, saying: "The product presents a serious risk of electric shock because it is supplied with a non-compliant plug."
