Select baby soothers fail to meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005

Parents are being urgently warned to stop using Auchan Baby Soothers immediately following a serious safety alert issued by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS).

The product has been recalled from consumers as it poses a "hazard" to children. Due to a fault on the soother's teet, users risk "choking" if they put the product in their mouth.

The products have been identified as posing a 'serious choking hazard'

Rysons

The OPSS has identified that the soothers fail to meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, prompting an immediate recall action.

According to the OPSS warning, the specific safety concern centres on the soother's teat, which can break or become detached from its plastic base with "minimal handling".

This fault creates a small part that poses a direct choking hazard to young children who may place it in their mouths. The defect was discovered during safety assessments.

Those who have purchased these soothers are instructed to cease use "immediately" to protect children's safety.

The OPSS directed customers to visit the Rysons recall page for comprehensive information about the product recall.

The wholesale supplier identified a "serious choking hazard", stating that the product should no longer be sold or used.

Full details about returning the affected soothers for a complete refund can be found at www.rysons.com/product-recall.
