The lid of the mugs could lead to burns for users

Drinkware company Stanley 1913has issued a recall of its Switchback and Trigger Action travel mugs.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) notified Britons of the recall and said to immediately stop using the product.


The affected items do not meet the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

The OPSS said: "The product poses a risk of burns as the lid threads can shrink when exposed to heat and torque, causing the lid to detach during use."

The OPSS said: "Stanley 1913 has issued a voluntary recall of the Switchback and Trigger action travel mugs because the lid threads can shrink when exposed to heat and torque, causing the lid to detach during use, posing a burn hazard.

"Stanley 1913 has asked all their customers currently in possession of the Switchback or Trigger Action travel mugs to immediately stop the use of these products."

The drinkware company is offering free replacement lids to affected customers.

Customers can visit the dedicated recall website at stanley1913tmrecallint.expertinquiry.com or by calling 0800 249 4582 to obtain a replacement lid.

Various Toshiba AC adapters for laptops have also been recalled due to fire and burn risks.

The OPSS advised those who own Toshiba laptop adapters to check their devices.

Affected owners should "turn off the laptop and unplug the AC adapter immediately".

The OPSS stated: "It has been identified that the laptop AC adapters can overheat and spark, presenting a risk of fire and burns."
