The products did not meet the safety regulations

Amazon has been ordered to recall Dorland 'Intrinsically Safe' Electronic Equipment by the Health and Safety Executive.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) alerted Britons of the recall and stated the items present "a serious risk of explosion and fire".

The products lack any of the required safety markings that would indicate they are safe for use in explosive environments.

The affected products were sold via Amazon but dispatched from and sold by Dorland-Ex Smartphones.

The OPSS said: "The products claim to be suitable for use in Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas. There is no evidence that an appropriate conformity assessment was carried out before the products were placed on the market in Great Britain.

"The products do not have any of the required markings, including the specific markings of explosion protection and the symbol of the equipment group and category.

"The products within the scope of the corrective action do not meet the requirements of the Equipment and Protective Systems Intended for Use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2016."

Customers should await further instructions from Amazon regarding the return process and potential refunds for these non-compliant devices.

Sainsbury's has also issued an urgent recall for its Taste the Difference (TTD) Belgian Milk Chocolate Honeycomb Pretzel 150g due to potential metal fragments in the product.

The supermarket chain has immediately removed the affected items from its shelves across the UK.

Sainsbury's told customers: "If you have purchased the product with the affected batch code, please do not consume this product."

Instead, shoppers should return the product to any Sainsbury's store, where they will receive a full refund.
