Amazon shoppers warned of 'serious fire' and 'choking' risks as two products removed from the marketplace

Shoppers have been warned as items sold on Amazon pose a serious safety risk. This means anyone who has purchased the affected aquarium tank heater will not receive it as it has been rejected at the border.
Baby footmuffs have also been pulled from the marketplace as they pose the risk of choking.

OPSS
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) said: "The product presents a risk of fire as it is inadequately earthed. Under fault conditions, the product could overheat and ignite.
"Additionally, the plug pins are too close to the edge of the plug face, presenting an electric shock hazard. Required markings, labelling and documentation are missing.
"The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994."
Due to the risk, shoppers who have purchased the product will not receive it.
Another item that customers will not get is a baby Footmuff. This poses a choking risk and it will be rejected at the border.

The OPSS added: "The product presents a serious risk of choking because the zips and toggles can be removed with minimal force.
"If a child were to play with or pull on the zips and toggles and they detach, they may place these small parts in their mouth and choke.
"The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005."
