The budget supermarket is reportedly offering a promotional price cut
Britons have been left fuming after discovering a staggering £2.17 price difference for the same pack of Mr Kipling angel slices at two rival supermarkets.
Social media users reacted with fury when they spotted upmarket retailer Waitrose is charging £4.15 per box.
A separate image, which was reportedly taken in rival supermarket Asda, showed a price tag of £1.98.
The budget retailer reportedly cut prices as part of a temporary promotional deal.

It has also been suggested the angel slices were approaching their sell-by date.
Sharing an image of the price gap, Dianne Bourne said on Twitter: “How can the exact same price of Mr Kipling cakes cost £4.15 at Waitrose and £1.98 at Asda? Feeling very conned by Waitrose right now.”
One user replied: “Aldis own brand are just as tasty if not better and a much more affordable price.”
Another person wrote: “I paid a visit to Waitrose yesterday, first time in a long while.
“Utterly astounded by some of their prices and didn’t buy half the stuff I needed. Serves me right for two-timing Stockport Lidl.”
The full price, which stands at £3.95, is still 20 pence cheaper than the value in Waitrose.
An app comparison website revealed the extent to which prices vary in UK supermarkets.
Morrisons is also offering a temporary cut of £2 from £3.95.

Ocado’s current price stands at £2.50, down from the same full price.
Iceland is offering the product for £3.
Sainsbury’s and Tesco have Mr Kipling’s listed for £3.95.
A Waitrose spokesperson said: “Our prices are broadly in line with the market.”
The spokesperson noted that Asda, per the pictures shared online, appears to have a promotion on the cakes at the moment, just as “we currently have 50 per cent off Fibre One cakes and snacks”.
