'I'm a celebrity makeup artist - I can look 10 years younger in seconds with a concealer trick that brightens and lifts'

Many women are keen to achieve these effects, especially as they notice their skin become duller and less firm with age.

GB News spoke exclusively to celebrity makeup artist Alex Persico from Alexa Persico Cosmetics about how women can drop a decade off their appearance with the right makeup hacks.

She said: "If you want to look 10 years younger, the secret isn’t heavy makeup - it's about using the right products to enhance your natural glow."

Telling women how to expertly apply concealer for an anti-ageing effect, Alex advised against caking it on haphazardly.

Instead, being strategic is key. The expert said: "I recommend applying a small amount to the inner and outer corners of the eyes and blending outward. This technique brightens while keeping everything natural and lifted."

Indeed, experts believe that when applying concealer, less is more. A second makeup artist told GB News that a common method causes "extreme creasing" underneath the eyes.

According to Alex, concealer can be your "best friend" - as long as you choose the right one.

She said: "A bright under-eye makes all the difference, but using the wrong concealer can do more harm than good.

"Thick or drying formulas settle into fine lines and emphasize texture. Instead, go for a creamy, moisturising formula."

According to the expert, it's best to look out for lightweight products that blend seamlessly and won't crease.

For your makeup to look its best, Alex stressed the importance of prepping your canvas beforehand.

"Youthful skin is all about hydration," she explained. "When your skin is dry, makeup settles into fine lines and can make you look older."

To combat this, ladies can use a hydrating mist before applying their foundation or concealer. Moisturiser is also effective.
