A loss of collagen as we age leads to lips appearing thinner and more lined than they did in our younger years.
While these are natural signs of ageing, it's possible to disguise them with the right lipstick tricks. According to the beauty guru, swapping one type of lipstick for another works wonders.
Carmindy said: "Long-wearing lipstick - don't do it. If it's going to be long-wearing, that means it's adhering to your lips and sucking every bit of moisture out of your lips. You've seen those people with the crusty lip situation.
"You always want to use a nice, creamy, hydrating pigmented lipstick to ensure your lips' health and hydration."
For those looking to up their lipstick game, women over 50 have been told to ditch three lipstick colours to look younger instantly.
Carmindy also encouraged women over 50 to ditch the setting spray after makeup application, as this can cause the skin to look drier.
With age, the skin becomes drier due to the slow-down of the skin's metabolism, weakened barrier function, and slower metabolic system within the cells.
Adding setting spray to the mix might compound this existing dryness. Carmindy said: "Don't ever use setting spray. It's an alcoholic mist that's supposed to set your makeup.
