When applied correctly, makeup can brighten your face, enhance your natural beauty and provide an instant fix for signs of ageing.
One makeup artist took to TikTok with a top tip for women over 50. Chele (who goes by @chelespell on the sharing platform) claimed that strategically applied concealer can work wonders for those in middle age and beyond.
The experts at Harvard Medical School explained that when we're young, the fat in our faces is evenly distributed. However, as we get older, this fat "loses volume, clumps up and shifts downward", causing round features to "sink" and smooth, tight skin to "loosen".
These changes are inevitable signs of ageing and nothing to be ashamed of. However, women who want to restore their younger-looking skin can do so with a makeup staple.
According to a makeup artist, women can 'lift their face' using just concealer

In a video entitled 'How to lift the face with just one product', makeup whizz Chele said: "This is super easy and you probably have the product at home already."
Demonstrating the use of a concealer stick, the expert recommended starting at the inner corners of the eyes, before bringing the concealer down and around the nose.
From here, Chele advised women to draw a diagonal line from each side of their nose and underneath their cheekbones.
They should then draw similar diagonal lines from underneath the mouth upwards.
The makeup artist also recommended drawing a diagonal line above the arch of your eyebrows and the outer corners of the eyes. Finally, she advised adding a touch of concealer underneath the brows.
Moving on to blending, Chele suggested that a small brush is the perfect tool to blend the concealer around the nose, under the eyebrows and in the inner corners of the eyes.
As for the concealer on the cheeks, the outer corners of the eyes, above the eyebrows and under the mouth, the expert advised using a wide brush in a "patting and pressing" technique.
Impressed with Chele's advice, one beauty enthusiast commented under her video: "This was excellent."
Makeup can certainly have an instant lifting effect when applied correctly, flattering your features and making you appear more youthful.
For more long-term results, women can achieve this by adopting the right skin care practices.
