When applied correctly, eye makeup can have a defining and vibrant effect, potentially taking years off a woman's appearance.
Speaking to beauty enthusiasts on YouTube, a makeup artist shared the best products to enhance your eyes over 50.
Speaking on the YouTube channel Tricia Cusden, Look Fabulous Forever, makeup artist Sally said: "The product I am going to use as an eyeshadow is excellent when you are in your 50s.
"It's creamy eyeshadow sticks. These are simple to use. You can apply them directly and they give a very light shimmer and last all day."

The eyeshadow can be applied "like a crayon" on the eyelids and evened out with an eyeshadow brush.
Sally advised: "As a base, I use a champagne shade for people with warmer-toned skin and a copper shade on the outer corners, to give a little definition.
"Use the blender brush to soften the colour of the champagne. You get a little bit of the warmth on the outer edges."
To complement the eyeshadow and enhance the look of your eyes, a "soft, dark brown eyeliner" is a good choice as it is "kinder than black as we get a little bit older".
The makeup artist said: "It's really soft and easy to use. When applied to the top of your eyelashes, it will make them look really thick.
"Start at the last eyelash and work close to the base of the lashes, just tapering it in. You can apply a little bit of eyeliner on the outer edge of the bottom of your lashes."
The softer eyeliner is very versatile and can be used to fill in any small gaps that are visible on the eyebrows.
Sally explained: "You can make them dual-purpose and use the eyeliners if you want to. Use a little bit just to fill in any gaps, with little soft strokes."
