The places in UK that have the best longevity have been shared

A lot can impact how long a person lives, including their environment.

Data found the UK spots where Britons live the longest.


The research looked at how many centenarians lived in each part of the country over a 12-year period.

The south east of England was found to be the area with the highest number of residents aged over 100.

Worthing in West Sussex had a longevity score of 15.432, according to the research by Oldest in Britain.

The score was calculated by finding the number of people aged over 106 compared to those over 90 in the region.

Preston was in second place at 14.541 and Fylde had a rating of 13.112.

Wales had the highest longevity score of the home nations, with Northern Ireland faring the worst.

The research found areas in the countryside or by the sea could have a higher number of centenarians as Britons relocate as they age.

This comes as a 102-year-old doctor shared advice for a longer life.

She explained keeping the mind and body active is important over the years.

Drinking lots of water, eating fresh vegetables and avoiding foods that don't agree with you can boost longevity, she suggested.
