Pretty, polished nails can pull together an outfit, while chipped nails have got to go

Women who have hit their 50s and beyond will likely style themselves differently than they did in their 30s and 40s.

Fashion influencer Nancy Queen - also known as Shopping On Champagne - took to YouTube to share what the ladies can "say goodbye" to for good in middle age. She advised women over 50 to stop going out with chipped nails - and provided a simple alternative.

The style enthusiast believes that women over 50 should bid farewell to a warm clothing item that "does nothing for their figure".

Nancy Queen also suggested that middle-aged women should keep their hands intact, ditching the habit of having "chipped nails".

Keeping your nails manicured, polished, or adorned with beautiful stick-on nails is an easy way to maintain your appearance - and it's something that's often forgotten. Doing household chores almost guarantees chipping after a while.

The influencer said: "At our age, nothing looks worse than seeing chipped nail polish - so either don't wear nail polish at all, or go get a manicure every week or two." Alternatively, the style enthusiast suggested wearing stick-on nails.

Calling them a "game-changer", the expert said: "They are easy to put on, they are lots of fun, they come in lots of different options, and I actually save so much time doing them."

This quick hack is a great way to look more polished without investing too much time or effort.

Nail polish or stick-on nails are also a great way to add pops of colour to a look.

Opt for bold, vibrant colours for an eye-catching look, or go for more subtle, muted tones. The benefit of stick-on nails is you can change these up depending on your outfit and the image you're going for.

Another Nancy Queen tip for women over 50 was to ditch clothes that do not fit properly.

People are often inclined to hold onto clothes they once loved, perhaps because they paid a lot of money for them, or they hope one day they will fit them again. However, the style influencer urged ladies to "get them out of your closet".

She argued that the items that do not fit "no longer serve you" and "have no purpose".

There are several routes to go down when clothes don't fit anymore. For women who do want to keep specific items, these can be tailored. Items that have had their day can be donated to charity.

As well as taking care of their nails, women over 50 can take years off their age by ditching a style of dress that is simply "not that flattering".

While one type of dress "does none of us any favours", fit and flare dresses are "really, really flattering".

Ladies can also drop a decade by revamping their makeup routine. One makeup artist shared the common makeup mistake that can age a woman prematurely.

In a similar vein, women in their 40s, 50s and 60s can get younger-looking skin with a daily drink.
