The neck is one of the first areas to give away your age - but it's easy to fix with the right hacks

While many women take skin care very seriously, the face is often prioritised, while other areas are neglected.

This means that overlooked body parts such as the neck, décolletage and hands show tell-tale signs of ageing before our faces do.

The neck is one of the first areas to betray a person's age; because the skin is so thin, any collagen loss is visible almost immediately.

GB News spoke exclusively to Harley Street's lead facial aesthetics clinician, Dr Raffaella Gabassi, about how women can achieve a "younger-looking" neck without going under the knife.

According to the expert, the secret is paying this delicate area some attention during your regular skin care regime. In particular, Dr Gabassi stressed the importance of diligent sunscreen application.

The expert stated: "If you want a younger-looking neck without surgery, you could consider some non-invasive options.

"First, regularly moisturising with hydrating creams can help to improve skin elasticity. High-quality products with retinol or peptides may also boost collagen production, enhancing skin firmness.

"Sunscreen should always be your best friend: applying it daily can protect against sun damage, which accelerates ageing."

As well as increasing a person's skin cancer risk, sun damage can take a physical toll on the face and neck.

Yale Medicine experts warned that it can cause several changes, including wrinkling, pigmentation, loss of skin tone, roughness, broken capillaries and redness.

In addition to skin care, women can improve the appearance of their necks with regular exercise.

Dr Gabassi explained: "This can strengthen the underlying muscles and slow down the signs of ageing."

There are so many ways women can maintain a youthful look and defy ageing, from getting enough sleep to eating the right foods.

And as techniques such as facial yoga become more and more popular, a 60-year-old with smooth, tight skin named the face tool she "can't live without".

But while at-home skin care can make a big difference, professional treatments may provide more dramatic, long-term results.

"Ultrasound therapy or radiofrequency treatments are another great route, as they stimulate collagen and improve skin texture," Dr Gabassi advised.

Of course, if you decide to go down the cosmetic route, you must do your research and ensure a professional is administering your treatment.

GB News previously spoke to Dr Raffaella Gabassi about how women can reduce jowls.

In addition to practising good skin care, the expert shared some helpful dietary suggestions, naming the three types of foods that support skin health.
