A trio of lip products may be all you need to create the illusion of fuller lips after 50
Dreading the bodily changes that go hand in hand with ageing is common, but there are many ways to age gracefully.
By shifting the dial on beauty norms, women can better enhance their assets at every stage of life. Makeup is an excellent tool to help them along the way, as one content creator recently showed that just three lip products can create the illusion of ageless lips.
Annamaria Kalebic, a 52-year-old beauty influencer, has become a poignant advocate for lifestyle changes that support healthy ageing.
She has used her platform to promote her top make-up tricks and tips that highlight her best attributes and give her a confidence boost in her day-to-day life.
One of the most recent videos on her TikTok page teaches viewers how to create the illusion of fuller lips with the help of a lip liner, contour stick and lip gloss.
“My name is Anna, I’m 52 years old and I love trying out make-up and seeing what works on mature skin like mine,” the content creator said. “Have you heard of lip contouring? It 100 per cent works and I am so excited to show you three products.
“You’re going to need a contour stick, a lip liner and [...] your favourite lip gloss or it can be a lipstick actually.”
As the body’s natural collagen stores deplete over time, the soft tissues and muscles around the lip start thinning. Contouring the lips in the right places could conceal the loss of volume, however.
“Thanks to the gift that keeps on giving - ageing - we tend to lose volume in all of our faces, particularly in our lips,” Annamaria explained. “I had to try this hack to restore a bit of volume that I’ve lost. Sometimes you just want to go out and have juicy and pouty lips.
“Just take the contour around the fuller part of your lips and just blend using your fingers. You can use a sponge or a brush if you prefer.
“Next, I’m using a nude brown pencil. Just do your normal lip liner as you would normally. I always overline my lips [and] like to fill them in a little bit as well.”
In the final stage, Annamaria goes in with the lip gloss to create the illusion of a fuller lip by adding shimmer to the skin's surface.
“I absolutely love this,” Annamaria quipped. “The contouring step is so easy to do that is definitely worth including, especially for a night out.”
It comes as a makeup artist named Gabi shared a top trick to help women create a lifting effect around the eyes and minimise the appearance of wrinkles.

She explained that the placement of eyeliner can be very influential on how lifted the eyes appear.
“If you put black eyeliner to the end of the lashline, following the lashline, then you’re going to get this sinking effect on the side of the eyes, make them look dropped. It looks really really bad,” the makeup artist said in a YouTube clip.
To prevent this downturned effect, Gabi advises using a windshielded motion with makeup brushes, when applying a matte eyeshadow to the crease area of the eye.
“These simple makeup tricks and tips will have you looking your absolute best in the most powerful phase of your female life, which is age 50 and beyond," she said.
