No skincare routine can turn back the clock, but makeup can help people look as young as they feel, regardless of age.
Beauty influencer Tammy Weatherhead looks decades younger than her age and she credits a beautifying make-up routine for her glowy complexion.
The 43-year-old recently discussed her best-kept secrets on TikTok, garnering a lot of praise from viewers.
Giving the face a little care before applying makeup and using products sparingly are the secrets to glowing in your 40s, according to Tammy.

“If you think you look older than your age, I’m 43 and I’m going to show you how to look more youthful because it starts with your make-up,” she said.
“First up, always do skincare before make-up because skincare is going to give you that glow. You’re going to get rid of any full coverage foundation, we don’t want that.”
Next, Tammy goes in with a tinted SPF to cancel out any redness on the face while avoiding a cakey texture.
“We’re going to wear a tinted sunscreen that’s going to give you a light coverage and a nice little glow,” said Tammy.
Concealer is then applied sparingly on areas that need a little extra coverage, according to Tammy.
“Conceal only in the areas that need help, and for me, it’s always the under eyes,” she shared. “Blend with your fingers because it’s going to give you a more natural finish.”
“Then a cream blush, just to make things glossier, and you’re going to apply the same colour on your cheeks, nose and lips.
“The only part you’re going to set is underneath your eyes and only your nose and cupids bow,” she concluded.”
The comment section flooded with compliments on Tammy's look, with some commenting that she looked half her age.
It comes as Deirdre Nicholas from 50 and Fabulous, explained how blusher placement can make a drastic difference to a person's appearance.

Tammy recommends applying make-up exclusively on the areas of the face that need it

The beauty enthusiast said: “I'm sure you know that, traditionally, blusher should be applied on the apples of the cheeks, the roundest, fleshiest part - to look younger.
“But the trouble is, as we get older, our face shapes change a little bit and they tend to drop, so the apples [...] become pears.”
To avoid highlighting this change in shape, Deirdre recommends "[moving] the blusher up the face a little”.
She went on: “Apply it around an inch under the eye, slightly higher than the top of the cheekbone. That's the most youthful place to apply it.”
