Neglecting to add shape to your long hair could be prematurely ageing
Long locks may have connotations of youth but one simple mistake could actually be ageing you prematurely rather than turning back the clock.
Hairstylist Justin Hickox advised that growing your hair long without giving it shape is a no-go if you want to look your best.
Justin said on his YouTube channel: "I've been a licensed hairstylist since 1995 and I've run my own salon since 2000."
The expert shared a mistake he has learned from "decades behind the chair", reassuring women that it's "very simple to fix and makes a huge impact".

The expert's tip is designed to help women feel their "absolute best" and most confident at whatever age they are - not suddenly look 25.
Justin claimed that growing your hair long without shaping it for the length can be a "mistake that ages you faster".
He said: "There's been a huge shift into longer hair. I believe in many cases this was a result of lockdown and people kind of being forced into getting extra length.
"The problem is that these situations weren't born from a desire to grow your hair into a certain longer shape. So, therefore, in many cases it wasn't a goal - it was just extra length.
"The problem here is that this results in having length but not necessarily having a good shape."
According to the expert, if you want to sport long hair, shaping is essential. This can be done through layering - "in the back or front or both" - or bangs.
Having long, one-length hair can have the unintentionally negative effect of dragging the face down. On the other hand, shaping around the face will have a lifting effect.
Justin explained that shaping will ensure that "the volume is where it needs to be to help accentuate the things about your face shape you want to accentuate, helping you look more youthful".
In another video, Justin said: "One-length hair can be beautiful, but at the end of the day, it just doesn't have the ability to accentuate things about our face in the way that a free-flowing dress doesn't have the ability to accentuate someone's frame."
Other hair experts second this. Luxy Hair Extensions reads: "Layers are magical. They give your hair life. And bounce. And a spring in its step.
