A two-step routine offers a fast track to glass-like skin

While adopting a multi-step skin care routine may sound like high maintenance, it can make a difference in texture and firmness over time.

Double-cleansing, in particular, has emerged as a transformative trend to provide the skin with a glass-like finish.

The two-step cleansing method involves using an oil cleanser followed by a foaming cleanser to remove excess product.

More and more skin care enthusiasts are adopting the technique as part of their daily regimen to achieve glass skin, including Gina and Marissa.

The method was recently lauded by skin care aficionados in a clip captioned "2 musts for glass skin".

Gina explained: "You're getting a gentle exfoliation every time you double cleanse because you're massaging your face for 60 seconds with that cleansing balm or cleansing oil, and you're doing a second cleanse."

The sisters pointed out that consistency is crucial for maintaining the benefits of double cleansing.

The two-step process involves using an oil-based cleanser followed by a water-based one, which supports skin health by ridding it of oil-based impurities that contribute to clogged pores.

Skipping these steps can leave residue on the skin, potentially clogging pores and causing breakouts.

When it comes to using an acid exfoliator, however, the skin care specialist advises treading carefully.

Products containing lactic acid and glycolic acid should be used sparingly, they noted, advising users to limit the use to two once or twice weekly.

Warning signs of over-exfoliation include "red or dry patches, or some kind of reactions," indicating the need to reduce frequency.

It comes as a skincare enthusiast on TikTok recently claimed she achieved "glassy" skin in just one week through a trio of products.

Cristina Noh, 53, said that snail mucin, skin polish, and creatine masks offer noticeable skin improvements.

There are rarely any shortcuts in skincare; the most impressive results come from consistent, long-term commitment.

Using active ingredients like retinol can also help target specific concerns like wrinkles and pigmentation.
