Many women apply makeup to achieve a youthful look, aiming to reduce their wrinkles and appear younger.

Wife of Dragon's Den star Tej Lalvani, Tara Lalvani, is a beauty expert and founder of Beautifect and she spoke to GB News on the best anti-ageing techniques for Britons to do.

To begin with, Tara said: "The first step is selecting the right products to suit your skin type. This ensures the makeup sits smoothly and lasts throughout the day.

"I find that liquid or cream products are fantastic for giving the skin a radiant, youthful glow. I recommend using a liquid bronzer and blush, finishing with a highlighter."

Making sure your skin is well prepared is a key task for women to make sure your makeup looks natural.

The expert said: "Prepping the skin is essential to ensure makeup looks natural. I have recently been loving my Gua Sha and Jade Roller, this allows me to lift, tone and refresh my skin every morning as part of my daily routine.

"While it helps to contour and define your features, it can also be used to gently massage under the eyes to help reduce the appearance of dark circles and fine lines.

"This leaves the skin smoother and brighter, ready for makeup application."

Women should try and target under the eye as a specific area to make themselves appear younger. Picking out the correct concealer and applying it correctly can do this.

Tara advised: "A concealer brush is the perfect way to brighten the under-eye area, as the soft bristles help to create a more refreshed, airbrushed look. However, avoid using any heavy products here, as these can settle into fine lines."

Another tip is to contour the face in the right areas, to define features and add natural shape to your face.

"Using bronzer along your cheeks, forehead and nose will give you a glowy look, along with a touch of blush on your cheeks.

"It is important to use this in an outward motion on the cheeks, as this will help to create a lifted, more youthful look."

Tara emphasised not going overboard when applying your makeup and for you to make sure that you are putting on just the right amount.

She said: "Less is definitely more in my opinion. Stick to light application, using the correct brushes for each step of your makeup routine can help to do this.

"Investing in the right tools to apply your makeup will elevate your routine and make the process more enjoyable.

"We invest so much into purchasing good quality makeup but without the right tools to apply it, we will not achieve the flawless finish we want!"
