A beautiful head of hair is a desire for many women. However, as the hair develops signs of ageing over time - think dryness, thinning, greying and a loss of volume - this can feel like a difficult task.
GB News spoke exclusively to a master hairstylist about how women can improve their hair as they age.
Giovanny Jorge, founder of Hair Repair Bar by Gioje, shared his insights, focussing on the concerns of women in their 40s and beyond.
The expert observed that many ladies in this age group are worried about hair loss as a result of hormonal changes during perimenopause.

Listing both his hair sins and saviours, the expert warned against "excessive heat styling, tight hairstyles, harsh dyes and hair sprays or gels high with a high alcohol content".
On the flip side, he encouraged using "gentle, sulfate-free shampoos and opting for volumising products that don't weigh the hair down".
Sharing one of his favourite hair practices to complete, Giovanny advised "adding an essential oil hair treatment and scalp massage once a week to every other week".
He explained that this "stimulates the hair follicles and blood flow in the scalp and infuses the follicle and hair shaft with a large dose of vitamins, minerals and moisture".
Hair oiling is hailed as an excellent hair care practice. Indeed, one model credits her luscious locks to an oil she adds to her shampoo.
Casie Ella (who goes by @casieella on TikTok) said: "Sometimes I will use it as a hair mask and other times I will put a few drops of it in my shampoo while I'm washing my hair.
"And I've noticed a tremendous difference in the growth and the thickness of my hair since I've started using this."
Hairstylist Kaitlyn (who goes by @hairbykaitlynrose on TikTok) also cited hair oiling as a great way to achieve "perfect hair".
She stated: "If you want to prevent split ends, oil your ends every single night. That's how they're going to stay moisturised, hydrated, they're not going to get brittle and they're not going to break off."
If you are using essential oils on your hair, ensure you are following your product's specific instructions. Always consult a professional if you are unsure.

Giovanny concluded: "Of course, we always recommend that women see a dermatologist for proper diagnoses and learn about the medical solutions available to them."
Everyone's hair is different and a dermatologist can offer tailored advice specific to your individual concerns.
A dermatologist is a medical doctor who specialises in conditions affecting the skin, hair and nails.
A trichologist diagnoses and treats disorders and diseases of the scalp and hair.
