Using baking soda can give great results on the sink, taps and drain

Sinks are one of the most used parts of the home and can quickly become greasy and covered in limescale.

This does not need to be the case, however, as an expert shares a cleaning hack using baking soda.

Baking soda is a cupboard staple in the kitchen but it has some great cleaning properties.

It can be used to transform lots of areas in the home, including the sink.

Speaking to GB News, Scandi lifestyle expert at Contura Catharina Björkman explained how this can be done.

She said: "There’s nothing worse than a greasy, grimy sink.

"A classic natural cleaning ingredient that can be utilised in lots of ways around the home is baking soda.

"For your sinks sprinkle the baking soda over the surface and then add dish soap on top.

"Leave it to sit for about 10 minutes before scrubbing away to reveal a shining basin."

Baking soda can do everything from removing limescale, getting rid of smells and cleaning drains.

Catharina continued: "This combo can also remove any limescale buildup which is ideal for using around taps to make them sparkle again.

"This multi-use ingredient will also clear your drains and remove any unpleasant odours.
