The property market has been turbulent and homeowners will want to make sure they get the best price for their home
Home renovations and extensions can be a good way to boost the selling price of a home, however these are often costly.
There are some more affordable ways to make a house more attractive without breaking the bank.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, property expert Jonathan Rolande explained some free ways to make your home more valuable.
This includes making sure a home is clean, tidy and well presented.
Doing this can make it feel more homely to the sellers and they can really start to envision themselves living there.
Jonathan said: "Wash windows inside and out and in preparation for winter, look at lighting to make your home attractive.
"Use bright bulbs in darker areas and get the bins out of sight."
As well as a clean room, homeowners should do whatever they can to make it look like somewhere someone could live.
The expert suggested styling all rooms as they are being sold and removing clutter.
Filling the house with nice smells, such as a newly baked cake, can also make it more appealing.
He added: "Use rooms as intended so clear the gym equipment in bedroom three and turn it back into a more usable room."
Keep the kitchen clutter to a minimum and dress the space with a chopping board, some fresh ingredients and some interesting books.
