Property prices may have dropped but it is still possible to get a good price for your home, an expert explained
UK house prices have fallen for the sixth month in a row which is sure to be a concern for homeowners.
Those selling their property may be tempted to drop the price in an attempt to help it sell more quickly.
However, this may not be necessary as it is still possible to get a good price for your property.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, property expert and founder of House Buy Fast Jonathan Rolande explained more.
He said: “Despite all the challenges in the property sector right now the market remains incredibly competitive.
“Recent figures have suggested that some people, in a rush to move, are more likely to drop the price of their property in order to try and secure a speedy sale.
“But reducing the price should always be a last resort.
"There are many other things you can and should do first to try and ensure you get the very best price possible for your home."
Jonathan explained homeowners can make their houses more attractive with little effort.
Subtle updates can make potential buyers more interested in the home.
The expert continued: “Wash windows inside and out and in preparation for winter, look at lighting to make your home attractive.
"Use bright bulbs in darker areas. And get the bins out of sight.
“Put some pots with bright plants near the front door and if you have one, on the patio."

Sellers may be more tempted to lower their asking price the longer the house has been on the market.
Before doing this, Jonathan suggested such houses try refreshing their listings first.
He continued: "If you've been on the market a while, consider getting the details refreshed and having new professional photos."
Improving the EPC rating of a home could up the selling price, according to the expert.
