When applied to the scalp, rosemary oil stimulates hair follicles, strengthening existing strands and encouraging new hair to grow

Models often boast luscious locks and while some of this is down to genetics, a lot of effort goes into maintaining gorgeous, healthy hair.

One model revealed that rosemary oil is one of the secrets to her sensational strands.

Casie Ella (@casieella on TikTok) took to the sharing platform to offer some top hair tips.

Casie told viewers that she has been using rosemary oil on her hair "for years".

Revealing that she uses it for hair growth, the model said: "Sometimes I will use it as a hair mask and other times I will put a few drops of it in my shampoo while I'm washing my hair.

"And I've noticed a tremendous difference in the growth and the thickness of my hair since I've started using this."

An expert from Harley Street Hair Transplant Clinics stated: "Rosemary oil is known for its ability to stimulate hair follicles, which can promote hair growth.

"When applied to the scalp, rosemary oil increases blood circulation, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles.

"This stimulation of the follicles can help strengthen existing hair and encourage the growth of new hair strands.

"Studies have shown that rosemary oil can be effective in promoting hair growth, making it a popular choice for those looking to improve the health and thickness of their hair."

In addition to stimulating hair follicles, the expert explained that rosemary oil promotes hair growth by "enhancing scalp health", "improving hair quality" and "eliminating dandruff".

But before making a change to your hair care routine, it's important to consult a professional. The expert stated: "It's important to note that while rosemary oil has shown promise in promoting hair growth, individual results may vary.

"Consulting with a healthcare professional or dermatologist is recommended, especially for individuals with specific hair concerns or conditions."

Before using rosemary oil, you should always conduct a patch test first. If you do start incorporating it into your hair routine, it's important to follow the recommended daily usage and frequency guidelines.

How to incorporate rosemary oil into your hair routine

Daily usage

For optimal results, those using rosemary oil for hair growth should aim for one application per day.

Frequency

Consistency is key if you want to see real results. The expert suggested aiming for three or four times per week.

Dilution

Rosemary oil should not be used on its one but diluted with a carrier oil such as coconut or jojoba oil. The recommended ratio is typically five drops of rosemary oil per 10ml of carrier oil.

Massage techniques

To ensure the rosemary oil absorbs into the hair and stimulates the hair follicles, massage it in for a few minutes.

Leave in or rinse out?

Depending on your personal preference, you can leave the diluted rosemary oil in your hair for half an hour or you can leave it in overnight as a treatment mask.
