The right hairstyle can take years off a woman's appearance, enhancing her facial features and camouflaging signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles.
For ladies after an anti-ageing chop, a hairstylist weighed in on the most flattering options.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, hairdresser at Milk and Blush Nicole Petty said: "The best anti-ageing hairstyles will be dependent on your hair type and length, but there are plenty of looks to choose from to look and feel more youthful."
Explaining that longer hair "isn't just for younger people", the expert said it can flatter a woman's cheekbones and jawline.
The expert recommended a pixie cut for older women

To elevate your long hair look, Nicole stressed the importance of incorporating layers.
She said: "Avoid leaving hair one length as this can make it look flat and make you look older.
"Layers will remove bulkiness from thicker hair and add some movement and texture for a more volumised and bouncy look."
Mature women can also inject youth into their hair with a fringe or curtain bangs, as these "help to hide any signs of ageing on the forehead".
For women with fine or thinning hair, while a pixie cut may be a "bold choice", it "helps to accentuate facial features".
The expert said: "Diamond-shaped faces look fabulous with longer pixies and bangs that sit flatter on the head, balancing out the length of the face.
"Women with rounder faces can add plenty of volume at the crown of their head with a pixie cut.
"For those with oval and heart-shaped faces, a pixie style with longer layers and short bangs will help add length and dimension to the face shape, whereas square faces will look better with longer, wispier bangs and light layers to soften angular features.
"Bangs can make a big difference by maintaining some femininity in an otherwise more masculine haircut by softening the more structured style."
If a pixie cut feels too dynamic, Nicole suggested: "Asymmetrical haircuts are ideal for short or mid-length cuts.

"They correct the shape of the face and smooth out any harsh angles or lines that can make you look older.
"Plus, the styling options are endless. Style the look with a deep side-parting to provide thinning hair with an instant lift and fullness. How you opt to style it from here is up to you.
"You can emphasise the bluntness of the cut with a straight and slick hairstyle, add inverted waves for fullness, or add Hollywood waves or accessories on one side for a glam look."
Offering her expertise on hair colour, Nicole concluded: "Adding well-blended highlights can remove a monotonal style, adding dimension and texture. "
