According to one hairdresser, perfecting your brushing technique could be the way to achieve amazing hair.
Mary (who goes by @thisgirldoeshair on TikTok) offered her "top three tips to get the best hair of your life" - and they cost "absolutely nothing".
In a video, she advised women to brush their hair from the bottom upwards, particularly when it's still wet.

The expert said: "Brushing is one of the main things that causes breakage, aside from bleaching and heat styling.
"Just raking a brush through from top to bottom - you've got a load of knots and it's wet - that's a one-way ticket to breakage."
Instead, you need to "tease the bottom and work your way up", with the hairdresser explaining that this is far better for your hair and "absolutely reduces breakages".
While salon treatments can often be expensive, using this brushing technique is a free way to up your hair game.
For another cost-effective hair hack, Mary revealed the hair-washing method that will give you "the best hair of your life".
According to the expert, shampooing your hair once is simply not good enough.
She said: "Double cleansing - whatever you want to call it - shampoo your hair twice if you're not already doing that."
