Six supplements can help to transform your hair
Good nutrition is a great tool for growing longer, healthier and even thicker hair.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, an expert detailed six supplements that can help you transform your mane.
Look for foods high in these nutrients or take supplements to get more of the below into your diet, co-founder and president at EverBella® Cristina McKay advised.
Biotin
The expert said: "One in three women with hair loss are found to be low in Biotin. Without biotin, your body cannot produce keratin, which is the main structure of your hair."
Supplements can help get more nutrients into your diet
GETTYVitamin D3
She continued: "Vitamin D3 is scientifically proven to help balance estrogen levels and quickly promote new hair growth.
"In fact, there are hundreds of studies from Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins and more that prove increased levels of Vitamin D3 result in faster hair growth."
Pumpkin seed oil
Cristina explained: "A recent study brought pumpkin seed oil to the forefront of hair health.
"Participants experiencing severe hair loss were given a daily dose of either pumpkin seed oil or a placebo. The results? Those taking the pumpkin seed oil experienced 40 per cent more hair growth."
Black cumin seed oil
She added: "Black cumin seed oil has been used to restore healthy hair for hundreds of years.
"In a study published in the National Library of Medicine, researchers found a 76 per cent reduction in hair loss when black cumin seed oil was added to women’s daily regimens."
Selenium
The expert added: "Your hair needs selenium in order to grow. Selenium helps support your thyroid - your body’s main 'hormone balancer'.
"As hormones shift during menopause, perimenopause and even postpartum, your selenium production decreases. But when you supplement, it allows your body to maintain balance.
