How you style your hair can cause it a lot of damage
Many women will go to extreme measures to keep their hair healthy, but hot weather, styling and ageing can all negatively impact your hair.
An expert has shared the biggest "no" when it comes to caring for your locks. They said to avoid three things when styling, drying and protecting your hair in the sun.
The expert warned against using heat on the hair, particularly with nothing to protect it.
“I would say don't ever use heated tools on dry hair without using a spray protector," hair care guru and specialist Gina Conway said on behalf of Stocklytics.
Heatless rollers can leave your hair with a nice curl in the morning

"The heatless rollers are a game changer. You get amazing results without damaging your hair.” Heatless rollers are an affordable way to style your hair without damage.
Simply sleep with the rollers in to reveal a bouncy blowout the next morning. As the weather heats up, Gina also warned about the damaging effects the sun can have on our hair.
She continued: “A lot of people go on holiday in the warmer months, so you tend to talk about sunscreen on your hair.
"I recommend doing this. And as it’s now cool to have a ‘wet look’ with your hair, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t. You can use hair sunscreen or just normal sunscreen. Either is fine."
Too much sun exposure can leave hair dry and brittle, so it is wise to protect your hair in other ways to counter any additional damage during the summer.
The expert continued: "Another thing in the summer is to give your hair a break. Everybody likes a little bit of a beachy wave so take this as a sign to leave your hair alone a bit.
"I would recommend people start using hair oils in the summer more as they try and be a bit more natural with their hair.”

Protective products are a must when using heat on your hair
GETTYThe final mistake Gina advised women to avoid is rubbing their hair with a towel when wet. She said: "Towel drying is fine, but never friction your hair.
"This will raise the cuticle and break it, and potentially make it more staticky. I always say to squeeze your hair with the towels.
"Put your product in, comb it through, and let it dry naturally till about 90 per cent. Then in the last 10 minutes, use that dryer.”
This comes as women were told the drink for healthy, shiny hair as hot weather can cause your locks to look "brittle and damaged".
