Most people understand the importance of washing their hair, but finding the right schedule may depend on hair type and texture.
New research from Philip Kingsley has revealed that the majority of people don't wash their hair correctly, with more than 44 per cent spending only 30 to 60 seconds shampooing instead of the full minute.

"You wouldn't leave more than three days between washing your face, and you likely wouldn't wear the same outfit more than a few times before washing it - apply the same thinking to your hair and scalp."
During the study, researchers identified a set of golden rules to optimise hair care during the shower.
First and foremost, they advised against scrubbing hair or piling it on top of the head to avoid tangling.
Instead, they recommend letting shampoo suds flow down the hair length.
They also recommend using no more than a 50p-sized amount of shampoo and massaging onto the scalp with water to increase later.
"Using too much product can result in dull-looking hair," they cautioned.
When it comes to rinsing, multiple rinses are recommended to ensure thorough cleansing.
The researchers highlighted that despite growing awareness of the importance of scalp health for hair growth, current washing trends fall short of the recommendations.
