However, it should be used sparingly. Dr Balwi advised: "You can freshen up your hair using dry shampoo, although this should be used sparingly as too much dry shampoo can build up and clog the hair follicles.
"To avoid unnecessary build-up, dry shampoo should be used only two to three times a week.
"You do not need a lot and it should be used sparingly, focusing on the roots and not sprayed directly onto the scalp.
"You should opt for a non-comedogenic dry shampoo as they are more suitable for people with sensitive scalps."
Dry shampoo can be a useful tool midweek, but women must make sure they are using it correctly.
Those who are worried about hair loss and want to achieve their best mane are told of other products that could be helpful - or damaging - to their mane.
The pro added: "The products you use to wash your hair are also important, using shampoos containing sulphates and silicones is damaging to your overall hair health and can clog the hair follicles causing fallout.
"Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate in particular are harsh on the hair follicles and are responsible for stripping away its natural oils.
