Hairstylist and salon owner Dawna Jarvis has been in the business for almost 30 years, helping women of all ages navigate their hair concerns.
For women in their 40s, 50s and beyond who may be seeing significant greying, Dawna stressed that having a "style" is key.
"I wouldn't say there's a perfect haircut to have, but I do believe if you're going to have your hair grey, you should have a haircut that's very flattering," she said.
"It can be short and fun, it can be the classic bob - just something that's polished and finished.
"When it looks intentional, it looks its best, versus grey, long hair that just grew out over time and it's just there."
Mature women are often urged to chop their hair off as they get older, as a common mistake could be ageing them faster.
But do not fear - it's possible to enjoy long locks at any age as long as you add some shape.
Dawna previously spoke to GB News about the perfect cut for women over 50.

GETTY IMAGESA great chop can not only make your hair look better, but it can also flatter your face and potentially even take years off of it.
Strategic face-framing layers are great for mature women because they add dimension and depth at a time when many are struggling with thinning.
They can also conceal crow's feet - the wrinkles that appear at the sides of the eyes. If you're hoping to rock your greys, Dawna also advised going for regular trims and keeping your hair healthy.
For those who are not yet ready to go grey gracefully, the right dye can be transformative - just avoid the "unflattering" colour that is making you pale and showing off your roots.
