'My peace lily has pushed out beautiful large blooms thanks to my four-step plant care formula'
GETTY
Peace lilies are loved for their graceful white blooms and lush leaves, though they don’t always make a grand display.
In some cases, the plants produce multiple bouts of flowers, but it takes the right care formula to achieve stunning results.
Fortunately, one house plant enthusiast shared four steps that helped elevate the appearance of her peace lily and coax it into bloom.
Taking to her TikTok channel, Ana explained: "I changed my peace lily care and she is thriving and gave me a gorgeous flower."
“These are the four most important things” the houseplant fan continued in the post's caption.
For optimal nutrient absorption, all plants need good quality soil, and peace lilies are no exception.
Ana potted peace lilies in “well-draining" soil because this ensures roots are properly aerated, she explained.
While the soil of peace lilies should remain consistently moist, the plants do not like sitting in standing water.
“Do not let them dry out, water when the first inch or two is dry," added Ana.
This simple monitoring technique helps to maintain optimal moisture levels for all types of plants.
Getting the lighting right is equally crucial for the well-being of peace lilies, as too little or too much can throw the plant off balance.
Last but not least, the content creator recommends using a fertiliser, or a “beneficial bacteria” to feed the plant.
A good fertiliser for peace lilies should contain nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, which are essential nutrients for flower production.
