Plants can grow more quickly with the right care

Winter plant care requires some adjustments as plants need less water and little to no feeding to thrive.

Although plants are typically shielded from harsh lighting conditions throughout the year, they may need to be brought out from dark corners during colder months.

Where good lighting isn't available, it may be worth using additional grow lamps to maintain plant health.

This is a particularly helpful way to provide supplemental light as the days get shorter.

The creator of the TikTok @plantcarefamily suggests using a timer to stay in control of just how much light plants receive throughout the day, however.

“Your ability to grow your plants quicker is determined by just one factor,” noted the content creator in a clip. “If you want your plants to grow faster there is one key thing they need every day.

"Plants grow best when they’re on a set schedule, getting the same amount of light every day. This consistency is the game-changer for growth and the secret is timers."

The gadget essentially ensures consistent light cycles for optimal plant growth by mimicking natural daylight.

It does so by automating the lighting process and allowing precise control over how much light the plants receive.

“These mechanical timers turn on and off at the same times every day, allowing our plants to have a consistent light routine," noted the TikToker.

“Using timers allows us to provide our plants with the right amount of light they need every day to grow fast and stronger.

“So if you have one or two grow lights try to get yourself some timers, it will save you a lot of time and it’s going to keep your plants healthy and happy all day long without you having to worry about them."

Elsewhere in the comments of the clip, the content creator noted that the hack had done wonders for one of his plants

“Our birds of paradise have been growing nonstop ever since we set up the timers because we don’t forget to turn them on,” he added, inspiring others to put the method to the test themselves.
