Houseplants can be a wonderful addition to a room, bringing colour and vibrancy to a space that might seem dull and bleak.
However, some individuals may find it challenging to care for them properly and should consider alternatives that are easier to maintain.
Content creator Siegrid shared on her YouTube channel (@Millenialmom3.0) four plants she recommended adding to your home.
She said: "These plants are great additions, whether you are a beginner or a pro. The first is the Calla Lily, which is native to Southern Africa and is known for its elegant bloom.

"The plant adds a touch of sophistication to any space. They have arrow-shaped leaves and flowers, making them a popular addition and are easy to look after."
To look after Calla Lilies, "water when the top inch of the soil feels dry". During the blooming season, "add a little fertiliser to encourage more flowers" to blossom.
Another option is the Philodendron Brazil, which is native to Central and South America. It has "beautiful, heart-shaped leaves that feature a combination of green and lime green variation".
Siegrid added: "It's super adaptable and grows well in both bright and low light. It grows fast and is forgiving if you forget to water it."
The plant lover recommended the Lemon Lime Pothos, which is "a vibrant, fast-growing" option.
The YouTuber said: "I have moved it multiple times, and because it tolerates low-light and irregular watering, it grows quickly and is super easy to propagate.
"For this one, water when the top layer of soil is dry and occasionally dust the leaves."
The fourth option the content creator recommended is the Dracaena Marginata, also known as the Dragon Tree.
