Some fans of the seaside staple dish were outraged that the chef was charging £32 for the meal, calling it "ridiculously overpriced", and Tom hit back.
The chef took to Instagram, stating: "I know my Fish & Chips are always a hot topic, and in my opinion, you absolutely can’t beat a good fish and chippy tea.
"The Fish & Chips at @kerridgesbandg is a real crowd pleaser. But if you’d rather give them a go yourself, check out my recipe."

Accompanying Kerridge's words was a photograph of his fish and chips, served with tartare sauce and mushy peas.
Some Instagram users took the opportunity to tell the chef they did not approve of his food.
One Instagram user commented: "Looks like something you’d get in the frozen aisle. Poor."
Tom Kerridge replied to the disgruntled Instagram user: "Sad post mate….. cheer up buddy, say something nice, don’t be a d***…. It’s not a good look."
At Kerridge’s Bar & Grill, located within five-star hotel Corinthia London, the chef's Deep-Fried Line-Caught Haddock and Chips with Pease Pudding, Tartare Sauce and Spiced Matson Sauce goes for £32.
A mixed leaf side salad will set visitors to the restaurant back a further £7.
Other Instagram users were quick to state they found the prices high.
One commented: "£32 for fish & chips and especially a dish that looks like that.
