Tesco customers should check for the affected food product

Tesco has ongoing recalls for food items sold in stores, including one with potentially serious health risks.

Shoppers with an allergy or intolerance to milk could be at risk if they eat a curry.


A Plant Chef product contains milk that is not mentioned on the label, which can cause extreme side effects in some cases.

Tesco stated: "We are recalling a specific batch of Tesco Plant Chef Sweet Potato & Chickpea Tikka Masala 400g as it may contain milk.

"[This] is not declared on the label and could therefore pose a risk to customers with a milk allergen or intolerance."

Those who have a milk allergy and consume milk can experience mild to severe side effects.

In extreme cases, Britons may notice red raised itchy rashes, vomiting or nausea, an itchy mouth, tongue and throat, swelling of the face or a runny nose and sneezing, according to Allergy UK.

Those who have an intolerance can return the product in Tesco stores.

The statement added: "Please do not consume this product and return it to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.
