'Best day ever!' Tango brings back popular soft drink after fans beg for its return - 'It was my favourite'

A post from Tango's official Instagram page read: "After years of ghosting, we’re back. Rekindle your love with Tango Cherry at your nearest Iceland Foods and The Food Warehouse."

Fans of the drink can snap up Tango Cherry Sugar Free Cans 8 x 330ml for £3.50, Tango Cherry Sugar Free 2 Litres for £1.50, both in Iceland, plus more.

The comments section was flooded with Tango fans who could barely contain their excitement about the return of the soft drink.

One cherry enthusiast said: "I love you for this I just bought one, I missed it so much." Another rejoiced: "Omg it’s back!"

According to fans, the return has been a long time coming. An eager Tango fan said: "It's about time!" Another said: "Woo, finally."

One social media user said: "You better not be kidding me, I love this." Another said: "Dreams do come true." A Tango fan agreed: "This has just made my day."

Under social media posts by Newfoodsuk, Britons were similarly "buzzing" about the announcement.

A determined Tango Cherry fan said they have "got to find that". Another said: "I’ve had this! It tastes just like black cherries. HIGHLY recommend this one."

Those who haven't yet snapped up the drink cannot wait to get their hands on it. One said: "Going to [Iceland] today so will definitely buy some if they have it in." Another seconded this: "I need to get some!"

And fans who have already tried it simply can't get enough: "You best believe I’ve already consumed two bottles of this."

On X, a Tango customer said: "Just found out that [Tango Cherry] is making a comeback, life is beautiful in every way." Another said: "Tango Cherry is coming back? Best day ever."

Another said: "Just audibly gasped because Tango Cherry is back." A delighted social media user said: "I just found out they're going to start selling Tango Cherry again and I'm so happy."

The revival comes after several years of pleading from fans of the soft drink.

Back in 2019, one Tango drinker was saddened by the disappearance of their favourite beverage. Reaching out to Britvic, which owns Tango, they said: "Hi. I have fallen in love with your Tango Cherry but supermarkets in my area aren’t stocking it in cans recently. Please, please tell me it’s not being discontinued."

A spokesperson from Britvic said: "We have stopped making Cherry Tango but have two new flavours to try: Tropical Tango and Strawberry & Watermelon Tango."

In 2020, one Tango Cherry enthusiast said: "Bring it back lads, come on." In 2021, another asked: "How will I ever get over this national crisis? Strawberry and Watermelon is good but it’s no Cherry."

Another implored the drinks company: "Please bring back Tango Cherry, I loved it. It was my favourite. Please."
