Shoppers have been urged not to handle the product and dispose of it safely

Brew York is recalling Juice Forsyth on a precautionary basis following reports that cans have exploded due to over-carbonation.

The ‘tropical’ IPA, made with pineapple, mango and passionfruit puree, is stocked at Morrisons, who confirmed in an email that they are "withdrawing the impacted codes" from stores.

The cans have a best-before date of July 23 2024, which can be found next to the gyle code at the bottom of the recipient.

The Food Standard Agency (FSA) said: “Brew York is recalling the above product.

The beer is sold at supermarkets across the UK

Product recalls

“If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or “recalled” (when customers are asked to return the product).

“The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.

“In some cases, a ‘Food Alert for Action’ is issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific actions to be taken on behalf of consumers.”

In a statement shared on social media, the brewer noted: “Despite our confidence that this is only isolated to a small part of the batch, because of the potential risk we have decided that the prudent thing to do is withdraw and recall this product.

“We are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused by this. We take great pride in the quality of our products, and in this instance, our high standards have not been met.”

Various chilled and ready-to-eat foods were recently pulled from supermarket shelves over fears they may be contaminated with Listeria.

Bread Spread is recalling all chilled foods under brand names "Bread Spread", "Orbital Foods", and "Perfect Bite" as bacteria may cause serious symptoms.
