Urgent warning for snacks that can cause vomiting, seizures and more as further batches are affected
PA
More batches have been added to a recall that was issued earlier this month
Nuts sold in England, Northern Ireland and Wales have been recalled as they are "unsafe to eat".
Customers have been urged not to eat the affected batches due to the risk of illness.
Pack size 420g
Best before All date codes
The product was previously recalled by Leo’s Import Export & Trading Ltd but now all date codes, and snacks sold in more parts of the UK, pose a risk.
This is because they may have been contaminated, causing a risk for anyone who consumes the products.
The Food Standards Agency explained: "Leo’s Import Export & Trading Ltd recalls Buram Nuts in Syrup because it may contain foreign bodies.
"The product also contains apricot kernels which pose a risk to human health because of the release of hydrogen cyanide when consumed, making the product unsafe to eat.
"This product recall has been updated because of the risk of hydrogen cyanide release from the apricot kernels and has been extended to include all best before dates."
Ingesting hydrogen cyanide can cause nausea and vomiting or even cause a risk of seizures or coma. The manufacturers shared a statement with advice on what customers should do if they are in possession of the affected batches.
It said: "The above product (batch and best before date as above) has been withdrawn from sale because of possible contamination with foreign bodies warning received from the manufacturer.
"Please do not consume this product. Any customer who has bought this product can return it to the shop they originally purchased the product from or to Leo's Import Export & Trading Ltd for a full refund."
This comes as meat products were pulled from shelves and declared "unsafe" to eat.
