The products could cause a severe reaction for those with a peanut allergy

Spices sold in Waitrose have been recalled as they may contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label.

This could cause severe reactions for those with an allergy or intolerance.

These are the latest products in a line of recalls that have been made by FGS Ingredients Ltd.

More than 10 other spices sold in UK shops were pulled from shelves last week over allergy fears.

Britons have been told to check for two specific items in Waitrose that are known to be affected.

WR CI Yellow Mustard Seeds 58g

Brand: Waitrose

Best Before Date: Aug 2027.

WR CI Pickling Spice 32g

Brand: Waitrose

Best Before Date: Sept 2026.

The retailer stated both items are being recalled "due to the presence of Peanuts in Mustard Powder and Mustard Seeds".

The supermarket shared advice for anyone who had bought the affected batches. It said: "Do not consume, package up items and return the product to your local Waitrose & Partners branch for a refund."

Customers can also get more information by contacting Waitrose Customer Care on 0800 188 884, Option 4.

The supermarket chain added: "We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused."

Consuming peanuts for anyone with an allergy can be incredibly dangerous and, in some cases, can cause "severe life-threatening reactions".
