Some batches could contain small pieces of dried glue, making them unsafe to eat.
The supermarket said: "We’re recalling specific date codes of Tesco Finest 6 All Butter Pastry Mince Pies (6-pack), due to the possible presence of small pieces of dry glue from the packaging."
It added that "no other Tesco products are affected by the issue" and only the date codes mentioned should be returned.
The supermarket chain added: "If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t eat it. Instead, return it to a Tesco store for a refund.
"No receipt is required. Use our store locator to find your nearest UK Tesco. For more information contact Tesco Customer Service Team on 0800 505 555."
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) also alerted Britons to the warning and said shoppers should check point-of-sale notices in stores for further details. Recalls are issued when a safety issue is found with a food item.
The FSA said: "If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product).
"The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.

"In some cases, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific action to be taken on behalf of consumers."
This comes as Waitrose warns fish products could pose a danger to some consumers.
Two 'Easy to Cook' fish dinner items were found to have undeclared allergens including milk, wheat, soya and mustard.
These can cause severe reactions and can even be life-threatening for those with an allergy or intolerance.
