Aldi has recalled chicken which shows the wrong use-by date on the packaging

Aldi shoppers have been warned about kebabs that have a mistake on the packaging.

Anyone who has purchased the food should not eat it and can return to stores for a refund.

The use-by date listed is for July but this is incorrect, meaning the products are already out of date and should not be consumed.

Aldi states: "As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling Ashfields Grill 4 Garlic & Herb ChickenKebabs 320g because a small number of products have had the incorrect use-by date applied of 9th July.

"No other products are affected. Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

"We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation. For further information, please visit help.aldi.co.ukCustomer services can be contacted on 0800 042 0800."

Food recalls are often issued when a potential health risk is found with an item sold in stores.

The Food Standards Agency added: "Aldi is recalling the above product. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product.

"These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

"If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund. For further information, please visit help.aldi.co.uk or contact 0800 042 0800."

The affected items include the 6 X 40g multipacks of Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars with a best before date of 28 February 2025 and Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars with a date of 31 January 2025 or 28 February 2025.

A Tesco statement read: “We are recalling specific date codes of our Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack 6 X 40g and Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack 6 X 40g.

“Due to a mispack, there is a risk of peanuts not being declared as an ingredient in the product.“This poses a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.”
