GB News had a wonderful afternoon sampling Pizza Hut’s latest creations

Pizza Hut has launched three new pizzas available from today, and GB News was lucky enough to try them before they hit restaurants.

We excitedly tucked into the Spicy Goat, Chicken Fajita, and Pepperoni and Nduja pizzas to declare the best of the bunch. Pizza Hut also threw in a few classic Margheritas for us to try for good measure.

The restaurant chain told customers: "Today, Pizza Hut announces the launch of the latest summer essential – a new Handcrafted pizza range that is perfect for whatever slice of life that’s being celebrated.

"Introducing Handcrafted, our pizza range made with sourdough style dough, hand-stretched in Hut and topped off with iconic garlic sprinkles for a flavour sensation people won’t forget.

"Pizza Hut’s taste team has been perfecting three limited edition crave-worthy pizza recipes and is delighted to introduce zingy Chicken Fajitas, fiery Pepperoni & Nduja and The Spicy Goat, which will be available alongside Pizza Hut favourites, such as Margherita, Meat Feast, Pepperoni Feast and the Supreme range – all on Handcrafted bases!"

Our verdict

Chicken Fajitas: 3.1/5

Pizza Hut's Chicken Fajitas received a selection of two, three and four-star reviews from the hungry testers at GB News, but was not awarded any perfect scores.

Fajitas tend to have a kick to them, but some reviewers thought the pizza was ever so slightly too hot.

One GB News journo said it was "just pure heat" and "lacked flavour", while another said it was "unexpectedly spicy". A third called it "too hot to handle" - perhaps it's a pizza best paired with a tall glass of water.

Spice fans were delighted with the Chicken Fajitas pizza, however. One pizza fan said: "It hit the spot. A zingy taste. Fajita-esque."

Another joked: "It had a good level of spice to it that helped weed out the weak." They did have a small criticism though: "Could do with more chicken".

One big fan of the new recipe called it a "fun twist on a humble favourite", while another gave it the ultimate compliment: "An absolute fiesta for the tastebuds."

Spicy Goat: 3.2/5

Pizza Hut's Spicy Goat received scores ranging between three and 4.5 out of five. The team loved the addition of goat's cheese to the classic mozzarella base.

One GB News pizza fan said it was "spicy yet satisfying in both flavour and heat".

Another called it "a treat for the tastebuds", praising its "spicy yet creamy" taste.

However, some of the team admitted they couldn't quite take the heat of the Spicy Goat, wishing it had been a little milder.

Nevertheless, the "nice, expensive taste" of the goat's cheese made up for it. One pizza fan concluded: "Would buy."

Pepperoni and Nduja: 4/5

The winner!

Not one tester was disappointed by Pizza Hut's Pepperoni & Nduja, which received four-star ratings across the board - "you can't go wrong with a classic".

Pizza Hut's Pepperoni & Nduja

'I'm not usually a pepperoni fan but this was lovely - great flavours'

GB NEWS

It had a "little kick" and was sufficiently "meaty", making for a "very yummy" pizza.

With its delicious concoction, the restaurant chain even managed to convert one who doesn't typically go for this type of pizza.

They said: "I'm not usually a pepperoni fan but this was lovely - great flavours."

With a near-perfect score, Pizza Hut may be receiving a mass order for the Pepperoni & Nduja very soon.

For those who are keen to get their hands on the new recipes, the pizza chain told Britons: "Pizza Hut has retrained all its team members and staff in the art of Handcrafted, so every single Hut across the UK can serve up the perfect pizza.

"This infinitely craveable, light and airy pizza is set to disrupt the status quo and can be found everywhere this summer, replacing the classic dough with immediate effect."

GB News also compared the Greggs vegan and meat sausage rolls, and the results were surprisingly close.
