Food manufacturer Post Consumer Brands has sparked outrage among cereal enthusiasts after announcing the discontinuation of their popular Oreo O's cereal.
The company confirmed they are removing the beloved breakfast treat from their lineup to make way for a new product called Oreo Puffs.
The announcement has triggered a wave of disappointment across social media platforms, with fans taking to Reddit and X (formerly Twitter) to express their dismay at the pre-Christmas timing of the decision.
TD Dixon, chief growth officer at Post Consumer Brands, defended the move in a statement to The Food Network.

"For those who love dunking their Oreo cookies in milk, Oreo Puffs cereal is a brand-new, delicious way to enjoy the taste of the iconic Oreo cookie - during breakfast time," Dixon said.
A company spokesman also confirmed that Oreo Puffs would be a "permanent addition" to store shelves, suggesting no plans to bring back the original Oreo O's cereal.
The reaction on Reddit was particularly fierce, with users expressing deep frustration over the change.
"So that's why I didn't see Oreo o's on the shelf when I went shopping yesterday? My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined," wrote one Reddit user.
Another Reddit user criticised the potential quality of the new product, stating: "Really disappointing - Oreo O's had like the best texture, I doubt these'll try to mimic it."
Some users went further, claiming the new Oreo Puffs looked like a "huge downgrade" despite not having tried the product yet.
While Oreo O's cereal is being phased out, boxes are still available through various retail chains and e-commerce websites.
Some Reddit users expressed scepticism about the new Oreo Puffs, with one suggesting they might simply be rebranded Cocoa Puffs.
