New and returning Nestlé chocolate bars have hit supermarket shelves

Nestlé has sparked debate among chocolate fans as it scrapped three popular treats.

It has shared which chocolate bars have been introduced to replace them.

While fans pleaded for the treats to stay, Nestlé confirmed new chocolates would come in their place.

It has launched the new Aero choco-hazelnut and a new KitKat 4 Finger White.

The KitKat Chunky White with Lotus Biscoff will also make a comeback.

In a post on X, Nestlé shared it was "back by popular demand" after being introduced in 2023.

One social media user said it was a "cracking new line" while a second said the new Aero looked "yummy".

However, some chocolate fans have struggled to get excited as they are still longing for the discontinued treats.

A chocolate lover posted on X: "Who cares? I'm on my last Caramac."

Another social media user added: "Demand said have #breakaway ?!! Why get rid." [SIC]

One more referenced the recent chocolate removals. They wrote: "Don't takeaway my Breakaway!"

The chocolate company defended scrapping the chocolate bars as there has been a drop in sales.

A Nestlé spokesperson said: “We know fans will be disappointed to see it go, but it’s time for us to say goodbye to Breakaway.

“We have seen a decline in the sales of Breakaway over the past few years and, unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to discontinue it.

“By saying goodbye to Breakaway, we can focus on our best-performing brands, as well as develop exciting new innovations to delight consumers’ tastebuds.

“While we know it’s sad to see Yorkie Biscuit go, we want to assure shoppers that we have plenty of exciting new products lined up for 2024. Watch this space.”
