Morrison’s mini egg cookies have returned following their success in previous years
Shoppers are flocking to Morrisons in search of its trademark mini egg cookie, but the reviews on social media have been mixed so far.
The Cadbury Mini Egg biscuit dupe has been relaunched in stores ahead of the Easter holiday and hundreds of fans have already shared their thoughts online.
The baked good, which is made with knock-off Cadbury mini eggs, is being sold at a very competitive price that is more affordable than other options.
NewsFoodUK recently alerted chocoholics to the seasonal treat on its Instagram page, where shoppers left a flurry of contradicting remarks.
Morrisons' mini egg cookie is available in stores nationwide
GETTYThe baked good, which is made with small chocolate eggs, has been competitively priced at £1.29, beating rivals like Costa and Aldi.
NewsFoodUK recently alerted chocoholics to the seasonal treat on its Instagram page, where shoppers left a selection of mixed reviews.
“They really weren’t that nice,” one user wrote, while another chimed in: “They ain’t as nice as I thought they would be. They’re decent though.”
“Half the price of one in Costa,” another person wrote on Facebook. Meanwhile, others who hadn’t yet tried the cookies seemed hellbent on getting their hands on them.
“Must find a Morrisons… must try,” wrote one user, while another followed with: “Not a want but a NEED.” For £1.29, Morrisons' shoppers can get five freshly baked cookies from the store’s Cake Shop section.
When Aldi launched their version of the mini egg cookie last month, the chain was quick to point out that theirs was 21 per cent cheaper than Cadbury’s.
Aldi's cookies fail to beat prices at Morrisons, however, as a pack of four will set shoppers back £1.39. Cabury’s Mini Egg Cookies, by comparison, cost £1.75 for a pack of four.
It comes months after Domino’s divided fans with a twist on its cult favourite cookie after partnering up with Cabudry’s.
The pizza takeaway received strong reactions after introducing its Creme Egg cookie on X - formerly known as Twitter.
