McDonald's adds a frozen drink popular in the US to its UK menu - but you must act fast
GETTY
The fast food giant has delighted fans as a new limited edition milkshake is set to join the menu.
A purple milkshake, already popular in the US, will make its way to the UK later this month.
The Grimace Shake will be available from August 28 and costs £2.69 for a medium and £2.99 for a large.
It will be purple in colour in a nod to Grimace; a purple creature that became a McDonald's mascot in the 1970s.

MCDONALD'S
Grimace has appeared in adverts, on packaging and in toys for years, and the new treat is sure to be a hit with customers.
The milkshake will get its colour and flavour from a blueberry-flavoured syrup, making a sweet and fruity drink.
It will be available in around 1,500 branches, but customers must act fast as it is very limited - dropping off the menu one week later on September 4.
This comes as McDonald's updated its Rewards programme, with customers able to swap their points for fast food merchandise.
MyMcDonald's customers gain points when ordering with the account and these can usually be used towards food items in stores or to make a charitable donation.
For a limited time, the points can be swapped for items including pin badges, shoelaces, scrunchies and T-shirts.
The item that will set customers back the most is the McDonald's Birthday Party Backpack. This costs 50,000 points, which would take £500 of spending in stores to earn.
Striped Cross Body Bags can be redeemed for 25,000 points and McDonald's Bucket Hats, T-shirts and Baseball caps are yours for 10,000 points.
