Several highly anticipated menu items will return in time for the Easter holidays

McDonald’s has announced it will axe several items from its menu as of Tuesday, just weeks after they were added.

Among the sweet treats set to be scrapped from the menu is the KitKat Ruby McFlurry which many customers have described as the “best ever”. However, like other items, it was only intended to be added to the menu for a limited time.

The favourite sweet treat is one of several items from the chain’s recently launched grab-and-go menu that are facing an axe.

Fans, however, have been buzzing over the return of McDonald’s all-time favourite breakfast wrap, which made a comeback after a three-year hiatus.

The Galaxy McFlurry, which will sell for £2.19, contains pieces of Galaxy truffled, bunny ears and chocolate drops smothered with chocolate sauce.

Meanwhile, the Hot Cross bun pie marries cinnamon pastry with spiced fruit mix and butter-flavoured cream filling for just £1.99.

The McCrispy Deluxe, Creme Egg McFlurry and Halloumi Fries will also make a highly anticipated return.

The highly anticipated Creme Egg McFlurry combines pieces of the beloved Cadbury Easter egg and soft dairy ice cream, selling for £2.19. A miniature version will be available for £1.59.

It comes weeks after McDonald’s hot-selling McSpicy burger was brought back at all branches in the UK.

The comeback marked a collaboration between the fast food chain and hot sauce manufacturer Frank’s Redhot.

Thomas O’Neil, head of menu at McDonald’s UK and Ireland, announced the return of the item in a statement.

He said: “We know how much our customers love spice, and were blown away by the reaction to the McSpicy when it first launched as a limited edition back in July 2021, growing to a permanent resident on our main menu.

“This collaboration with Frank’s RedHot gave us such an exciting opportunity to build on an already iconic product and create something genuinely spicy but also delicious that we know both McDonald’s and Frank’s RedHot customers will love. We’re really looking forward to seeing the reaction.”
