Britons are able to order M&S food for Christmas from today

Marks & Spencer has announced its Christmas Food to Order service is open from today, with the retailer expecting many customers to start orders now.

The early start to Christmas shopping is evident, as M&S has already sold over one million festive products in stores, including stocking fillers, keepsake tins and savoury snacks.

It may be more than three months until the big day, but customers can already plan their Christmas dinners, Boxing Day buffets and New Year's nibbles online.

The launch comes as M&S revealed that nearly half of its customers were already excited for Christmas in July, with 43 per cent claiming Christmas dinner as their favourite meal of the year.

M&S has unveiled an array of popular items available for order this festive season. According to the retailer, the "star of the show" is their "Best Ever Slow-Cooked Turkey" (£85, 2.75kg), a free-range Pembrokeshire turkey crown brined in buttermilk for tenderness.

For those seeking alternatives, the Collection British Wagyu Rump of Beef (£60, 1kg) offers a luxurious option.

Vegetarians haven't been forgotten, with the Vegetarian Nut Roast (£12, 800g) packed with nuts, cranberries and Barbers Cheddar.

For dessert, the "Best Ever Yule Log" (£15, 835g) and the whimsical "Popping Down the Chimney Dessert" (£25, 1.1kg) promise to delight diners.

Last year saw a record-breaking 44,000 customers book their Christmas collection slots on the first day of launch, with peak ordering time between 6pm and 7pm.

M&S' recent 'Christmas Food To Order' countdown on Instagram and Facebook received record engagement, with customers eagerly tagging friends and family to start festive planning.

The service offers a wide range of options, from starters to mains, desserts, and party food, promising a fuss-free and exceptionally festive food ordering experience.

To order from M&S's Christmas Food to Order service, customers can follow a simple process:

  • Book a collection slot by choosing a date, time, and local M&S Foodhall
  • Browse and select items from the full range at marksandspencer.com/christmasfood
  • Collect orders in-store on 22, 23, or 24 December

While Christmas may be too far away to think about for some Britons, others have already been stocking up on Christmas items in stores, the supermarket stated.
