The innovative chocolate eggs have generated thousands of likes, comments and shares across social platforms, with food blog Newfoodsuk leading the excitement.

Speaking about the Eggstra Gooey Coffee Eggs, which contain four little treats, one excited customer wrote: "I need these in my life." Another even described them as a "game-changer".

Multiple commenters expressed their intention to visit M&S specifically for the eggs, with one stating: "Think I need a trip down to M&S."

"Oh yum sound like heaven, hope they've got these on Saturday!" wrote another eager shopper.

The positive reactions continued with customers describing the eggs as "gorgeous" and "yummy," while those who had already tried them praised their coffee flavour.

One customer recommended them to a loved one as "right up your street", receiving an enthusiastic response: "I need to try these."

However, the £6.50 price tag for four eggs did spark debate among shoppers.

A cost-conscious customer wrote: "I went to get some because I love coffee sweets but I nearly had a heart attack - £6.50 for a box of four!" Another commented: "£6 and they look small!"

Some customers chose to leave the eggs on the shelf, with one noting: "Found them, looked at them. then saw the price - £6.50, they stayed on the shelf."

Others defended the premium pricing, with one customer stating: "It's M&S, what did you expect lol. Bet they're better than Creme Eggs."

The premium confectionery is available in M&S stores and through Ocado, though the retailer confirmed that prices and availability may vary across locations.
