Nestlé has announced a new collaboration between two of its premier brands, combining KitKat and Nescafé in a mocha-flavoured two-finger chocolate bar.

The new treat combines crispy wafer biscuits with coffee-flavoured chocolate coating, offering consumers a fresh twist on the classic KitKat.

Angelica De Los Rios Granja, brand manager for KitKat at Nestlé UK & Ireland, said: "We are thrilled to announce the collaboration between KitKat and Nescafé this winter.

"The great taste of warming Nescafé mocha and the classic two-finger chocolate make the perfect pair to elevate your breaks in these colder months."

Enthusiastic shopper responses have already appeared on social media posts by food blog Newfoodsuk. Indeed, one user said: "These are amazing!"

Another declared, "Yummy," while a third simply commented: "Mmm."

One shopper started planning their next trip to the supermarket: "That's me off to [Sainsbury's] this week!"

A social media user enlisted the help of a fellow Sainsbury's shopper: "Could you have a look when you next go please?"

KitKat's new mocha-flavoured biscuit contains 104 calories per two-finger bar, the same as the classic KitKat. It is is suitable for vegetarians and contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

The launch comes as part of a broader expansion of the KitKat range. Nestlé also launched a Nescafé KitKat flavour latte.

Earlier this year, KitKat introduced a new selection of sharing bars. These are available in three flavours: double chocolate, salted caramel and hazelnut.

A Nestlé spokesperson highlighted the unique eating experience of the new treat, stating: "These innovative bars provide a unique and multi-sensory eating experience thanks to their delicious light and creamy fillings and chocolate that melts effortlessly in the mouth."

They added that the contrast in textures creates "an exceptional experience," enhanced by "the stunning swirled effect created by the marbled coating".

In other KitKat news, the vegan chocolate bar has recently been discontinued due to insufficient sales.

The plant-based version, launched in 2021, will only be available until the summer across its 15 European markets, including the UK, France and Denmark.

The vegan KitKat, which sold for around £1, was crafted with rice-based milk alternatives and 100 per cent sustainable cocoa, boasting an 18 per cent smaller carbon footprint than its traditional counterpart.
